Williams & Associates offer a number of courses around fire safety, awareness and prevention, all run by professional fire safety experts.
Level 1: Fire Awareness Training
This Fire Awareness Course is tailored to the needs of your business. It typically lasts for 3 hours and will give your staff the confidence, awareness and knowledge to know how to react in the event of a fire in the workplace as well as reducing the risks of a fire occurring.
It is ideal for all members of staff and will be taught by a serving member of the Fire Service. Depending on the facilities available it is possible to include a live fire demonstration including use of various extinguishers by delegates.
Subjects covered:
- What to do in the event of a fire (including evacuation procedure)
- Fire extinguisher recognition and uses (theory)
- Main causes of fire in the workplace and at home
- Fire prevention in the workplace and at home
- Duties of the responsible person
- Practical uses of extinguishers (Depending on location)
- Fire Legislation
Level 2: Fire Marshall/Fire Warden Course
This Fire Marshall/Fire Warden Course is ideal for those who have been appointed to carry out either role in keeping with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) order 2005. All businesses/employers must ensure that they have a trained Fire Marshall/Warden on site at all times.
This course lasts for 4 hours and will be taught by a serving member of the Fire Service. A Fire Warden/Marshalls job is to ensure that colleagues and customers follow the agreed safety arrangements for your business. This course will give your staff the knowledge to help reduce the risk of fire occurring and the confidence and training to help others keep safe in the event of a fire.

- Roles and responsibilities of a Fire Marshall/Warden
- Main causes of fire in the workplace and at home
- Fire prevention in the workplace and at home
- Evacuation procedure and fire drill procedure
- Daily/weekly fire checks and associated record keeping
- Fixed firefighting installations
- Fire extinguisher recognition and uses (Theory and practical)
- Liaising with Fire Service and Fire Service Controllers
- Fire Legislation
- Fire alarms
